CJ ENM Premieres AI Animation Cat Biggie and Unveils Vision for the Future of Content Creation
CJ ENM launches AI-driven animation series *Cat Biggie* and integrates AI across content creation from planning to marketing. The 30-episode series debuts globally on YouTube in July.

CJ ENM Advances AI Content Creation with New Animation Cat Biggie and Strategic AI Initiatives
As CJ ENM approaches its 30th anniversary in 2025, the company has laid out a clear AI strategy and introduced an original AI-driven animation series, signaling its dedication to shaping content creation through artificial intelligence. On June 30, CJ ENM held the 2025 CULTURE TALK event titled K-Content Meets AI: How AI Technology is Transforming the Future of the K-Content Industry at their Talent Studio in Seoul. The session emphasized the integration of AI not just as a technical tool but as a means to enhance creative processes within entertainment.
Applying AI Across the Content Value Chain
Shin Keun-sup, CJ ENM’s Chief Strategy Officer, detailed the company's approach to embedding AI throughout all stages of content development—from planning and production to distribution and marketing. This comprehensive use of AI aims to generate new intellectual properties and diversify content offerings.
Importantly, CJ ENM is also investing in training creators who combine AI skills with content planning and business knowledge. Expanding the AI team is a key part of positioning CJ ENM as a global AI-focused studio.
Innovative AI Tools in Production
The company showcased two proprietary AI systems currently integrated into their workflows:
- Cinematic AI: A unified system for narrative content that merges image, video, sound, and voice seamlessly. It automates the processing of 3D characters and environments, achieving visual consistency that has traditionally been difficult in AI-generated videos.
- AI Script: An AI agent designed to discover original IP by analyzing consumer demand and market trends. Unlike generic AI models, AI Script offers nuanced literary language analysis and cross-lingual insights to better evaluate content potential.
Premiere of Cat Biggie: A New AI-Generated Animation
CJ ENM debuted Cat Biggie, a non-verbal short-form animation series created entirely using their AI production pipeline. The project was completed in five months by a six-person team, a notably fast timeline compared to typical 3D animation production. The series tells the story of a cat who unexpectedly becomes a father figure to a baby chick.
The series consists of 30 episodes, each lasting two minutes, and will be released globally on YouTube starting July.
Baek Hyun-jung, Head of AI Business & Production, highlighted the challenge of replicating dynamic animation movements. Using Cinematic AI, the team converted characters into 3D data and trained the system to deliver polished final visuals. CJ ENM plans to extend its AI production capabilities beyond animation to include AI-driven films and dramas within the year.
Supporting Industry Growth with Policy Discussions
The event also featured insights from Sang-Hyeok Im, Partner at SHIN & KIM LLC, who stressed the importance of establishing clear guidelines and legal frameworks for AI content. Key areas include copyright, data protection, and dedicated government support to foster the global AI content market.
