Thomson Reuters has connected its CoCounsel Legal AI tool with DeepJudge, a platform that indexes and activates a law firm's internal knowledge. The integration, available to joint subscribers starting June 16, 2026, lets attorneys pull firm precedents, prior matters, and internal work product directly into CoCounsel's research, drafting, and analysis workflows alongside Westlaw and Practical Law content.
Lawyers often need both external legal authority and their firm's own experience to assess cases or negotiate agreements. The most relevant starting point frequently exists in prior matters, but it is buried in internal systems and hard to apply in the moment. How the integration works
DeepJudge creates a unified index across a firm's document repositories and business systems, enriching metadata and surfacing insights from unstructured data. CoCounsel Legal users can access DeepJudge search directly from the CoCounsel Chat interface, whether they are in the web app, Westlaw, or Practical Law. They can then attach up to 10 files to a session and apply any CoCounsel Skill to begin drafting, analyzing, or researching with that content.
The process moves from document selection to application in seconds. CoCounsel draws on the attached firm precedent, Practical Law, and Westlaw to support the work without requiring users to leave the environment.
