Consilio Integrates Claude AI Into Aurora Legal Platform

Consilio has integrated Anthropic's Claude for the legal industry into its Aurora Legal AI platform, allowing lawyers to query case documents and metadata directly within Claude without exporting data from Consilio's servers.

The integration, announced May 12, uses the Model Context Protocol-an open standard for connecting AI systems to external tools. Legal professionals authenticate with their Consilio credentials to access authorized matters and run natural-language searches across documents and associated metadata.

Aurora Legal AI Investigate, the eDiscovery tool available through the integration, searches against the full matter repository within Consilio's privately hosted infrastructure. This approach keeps client data in place while allowing lawyers to work across their matter files at whatever scale their cases require.

Addressing Data Fragmentation

The move reflects a broader shift in legal operations. As in-house teams adopt multiple AI, review, and matter management platforms, data scattered across systems becomes a governance and security problem.

Consilio's strategy lets lawyers access legal data from different platforms while preserving where that data lives and how it is secured. Additional Consilio tools are expected to follow the Investigate capability through Claude.

Andy Macdonald, Consilio's CEO, said in a statement: "As AI becomes embedded in the daily work of legal teams, clients need secure access to their matter data and legal workflows wherever they choose to work."

Current Scale and User Adoption

Aurora has more than 10,000 active users and nearly 100 petabytes of client data deployed globally. In Consilio's 2026 Global Survey, 54% of legal professionals cited technology selection and deployment as their top challenge-ahead of work volume for the first time.

The integration positions Consilio as a workflow partner rather than a single-platform vendor. The company supports platform choice, enabling clients to use external AI systems alongside Consilio's own capabilities.
