EQT and Google Cloud Partner to Scale AI Across 300+ Portfolio Companies
Private markets firm EQT and Google Cloud announced a partnership giving more than 300 EQT portfolio companies access to Google's AI technology, infrastructure, and expertise. The deal includes Google's Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, Gemini models, and security tools from Mandiant and Wiz.
For product development teams specifically, the partnership opens access to Generative AI and LLM capabilities that can accelerate how companies build and deploy AI agents. Portfolio companies will also get early access to unreleased Google Cloud AI products for prototyping and testing.
What's Included
- Streamlined access to Google Cloud's AI stack and infrastructure
- Early access to select unreleased Google Cloud AI products
- On-site support from Google's forward-deployed engineers working with EQT's internal AI transformation team
- Connection to over 330,000 trained Google AI experts from firms including Accenture, Deloitte, McKinsey, and PwC
- Sovereign cloud and AI solutions for data residency and governance requirements
- Streamlined onboarding to Google Cloud Marketplace for software companies in the portfolio
What This Means for Product Development
Product development teams across EQT's portfolio can now access enterprise-grade AI for Product Development tools without managing separate vendor relationships. The partnership covers the full stack: models, architecture, security, and expert guidance.
EQT has spent over a decade building internal AI capabilities. The Google Cloud partnership extends that infrastructure across the portfolio, helping companies apply AI to product development, operations, and customer engagement.
Companies already using Google Cloud AI within EQT's portfolio include Believe, Epidemic Sound, Keywords Studios, and Zooplus.
The Commercial Angle
Software companies in the portfolio gain expanded enterprise sales opportunities through Google Cloud's co-sell programs. This creates a dual benefit: faster AI adoption and new revenue channels.
Bert Janssens, Co-Head of Private Capital Europe & North America at EQT, said: "By partnering with Google Cloud, we are expanding access to the technology, architecture, and expertise our companies need to accelerate AI adoption responsibly, and at scale, while helping management teams future-proof their businesses to be more adaptive, resilient, and competitive in an increasingly AI-driven economy."
Karthik Narain, Chief Product and Business Officer at Google Cloud, added: "Agentic AI presents an important opportunity for businesses to operate more efficiently and ultimately to deliver better outcomes for their end customers. This partnership will ensure these businesses will have access to the technology, expertise, and platform needed to accelerate their transformations, safely and securely."
