HFTP announces collaboration with Destination AI to support hospitality AI conference and education

Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) and Destination AI will collaborate on year-round education and industry insights to help hospitality leaders grasp AI's business impact, the organizations announced July 7, 2026. The effort includes support for the third annual Destination AI Hospitality Summit, which moves to two days and expects to sell out for the second consecutive year when it convenes September 29-30 in Washington, D.C., with approximately 500 attendees.

The collaboration focuses on programming that helps professionals identify AI technologies delivering measurable business value, without altering the conference's ownership, management, agenda, or operation. "Destination AI has established itself as the preeminent forum dedicated to practical AI education and implementation in hospitality," said Frank Wolfe, chief executive officer of HFTP. "The strength of its audience, the quality of its programming and its focus on real business outcomes have made it an important platform for the industry. We are pleased to support its continued growth and to work together throughout the year, helping professionals stay current on the developments, opportunities and risks that come with AI."

Summit expansion and expectations

The 2025 event drew more than 300 attendees from over 280 hotel companies, technology providers, and industry organizations. Nazpari Aydin, co-founder and CEO of Destination AI, said the response prompted the move to a two-day format. "After the overwhelming response from last year's attendees, we expanded the event to two days to create even more opportunities for practical learning, candid discussion, and meaningful industry connections," Aydin said. "We greatly appreciate HFTP's support and look forward to working together throughout the year to help hospitality leaders understand how AI is evolving and what it means for their businesses." The summit is part of a broader effort to deliver AI for Hospitality & Events insights year-round, with the 2026 program centered on AI's business impact and the role emerging technology plays in driving innovation.

HFTP's AI Collective brings associations together

HFTP contributes its AI Collective, a nonprofit initiative advancing responsible AI adoption and education across hospitality. Participating organizations include AHLA, AAHOA, BLLA, CHTA, CMAA, HSMAI, HTNG, ICHRIE, iHITA, and JHTA. Together, HFTP and Destination AI will expand educational programming and share industry insights through the collective and the summit.

Why this matters for hospitality and events professionals

The Destination AI Hospitality Summit has become a gathering where hotel operators and technology leaders examine real AI implementations and their business results. For professionals in hospitality and events, the expanded two-day program and the involvement of major industry associations offer a direct channel to learn which AI tools are moving beyond pilot projects and how they affect revenue, guest experience, and operations. The cross-association support signals that responsible AI adoption is becoming an industry-wide priority, not a niche experiment.
