Higgsfield AI has debuted what it calls the first fully AI-generated feature film, a 110-minute comedy-action movie produced in four weeks for $2 million. The private premiere in New York City suggests AI-generated long-form content is moving from experiments to finished products that can get private screenings.

The film and its production

The Cully Hill Boys follows an East London rap trio caught between rival organized crime syndicates after finding millions of pounds on a boat. The film stars AI versions of MMA fighter Israel Adesanya, former UFC champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, livestream creator N3on, and digital creator Matt "MK" Kiatipis.

A team of 28 people - nine directors included - adapted Timothy Planagan's award-winning screenplay. Forty percent of the team had no prior AI experience. They produced roughly 1,000 assets and 100 AI-generated locations.

For creatives: what this signals

For professionals in film, animation, and content production, the key takeaway is speed and team size. A full-length feature was produced in four weeks with fewer than 30 people. Traditional film production at that scale typically takes months and a much larger crew.

Creatives who understand AI video creation workflows like managing asset pipelines, controlling character consistency, and handling location generation will find those skills increasingly directly applicable to feature production - not just short-form content.

Skills that translate

The production required adapting a script to AI workflow, directing AI performances, and assembling assets at scale. Those tasks map to existing creative roles: screenwriters need to understand how prompts map to scenes, directors need to manage AI character behavior, and producers need to estimate costs and timelines for assets.

Understanding text-to-video AI production is becoming a baseline expectation, not a specialty. Creatives who develop this skill set can position themselves for roles on these smaller, faster production teams.

Why this matters for creatives

The core implication is that film production is contracting in team size, timeline, and cost. The $2 million price tag for The Cully Hill Boys is roughly 1-2 percent of what a mid-budget studio comedy costs. For working creatives, this means the barrier to making feature-length work is dropping. The question is not whether AI-generated films will scale up - it's which professionals will have the combination of craft skills and AI production knowledge to staff them.
