Lectra launches Apogy, a product development platform using agentic AI for fashion

Lectra launched Apogy, a cloud platform using agentic AI to automate the entire product development cycle from concept to prototype. The 50-year-old firm, which reported €89 million in 2025 SaaS revenue, aims to cut weeks from design-to-factory workflows.

Lectra launches Apogy, a product development platform using agentic AI for fashion

Lectra, a Paris-based industrial intelligence company, launched Apogy on September 15, 2026-a cloud-based product development solution that embeds agentic artificial intelligence to connect design, data, and teams in one digital environment. The release marks a shift for the nearly 50-year-old firm, which built its name on CAD standards like Modaris and Gerber AccuMark, as it moves beyond digitizing patternmaking toward automating the entire development cycle from concept to industrialization-ready prototype.

How agentic AI changes the workflow

Unlike conventional assistants that wait for prompts, agentic AI proactively orchestrates tasks and pulls relevant data. Within Apogy, intelligent agents support teams at each stage: generating concepts from sketches, images, or text prompts, tracking changes with full traceability, and producing photorealistic 3D renderings for digital prototyping. The system is format-agnostic, compatible with standard market file types, so it slots into existing toolchains without forcing a rip-and-replace.

Maximilien Abadie, Deputy CEO of Lectra, said, "With Apogy, we are launching the first and only solution designed to bring together all involved parties, data and processes that shape a product. By breaking down silos and streamlining interactions across the entire ecosystem, we enable fashion companies to develop desirable, manufacturable products that meet consumer demand more quickly."

One source of truth across the supply chain

Apogy centralizes product data in a single, continuously updated repository that internal teams, partners, and suppliers access simultaneously. Irish sportswear brand O'Neills adopted the platform to eliminate errors from data transfers. David Towell, Senior Manager at O'Neills, said, "For the first time in our history, all our teams are using a single solution. This harmonization eliminates errors linked to data transfers, increases transparency and now enables us to accelerate operations, improve productivity and effectively support our growth."

The shared environment also addresses a growing industry headache: the loss of specialized know-how as veteran patternmakers and technicians retire. Apogy captures existing expertise, reducing reliance on a handful of experts and shortening the ramp-up time for new hires. Riccardo Romani, Operations Director at fashion group Oniverse-which owns Calzedonia, Intimissimi, and Tezenis-pointed to the talent equation. "New generations expect to work with cutting-edge tools. By equipping our teams with Apogy, a solution designed natively for the AI era and featuring advanced capabilities, we are strengthening our ability to attract, develop and retain the next generation of talent in product development roles," he said.

Built on three years of customer input

Lectra spent three years developing Apogy in close dialogue with dozens of customers. The SaaS platform will continue expanding its AI capabilities to automate more tasks and refine workflows. Early adopters have already validated its operational effectiveness, and Lectra's 2025 SaaS revenues of €89 million out of €507 million total suggest the market is receptive to subscription-based industrial tools.

For product development professionals watching the AI for Product Development space, Apogy represents a concrete example of agentic AI moving from theory into a production-critical phase. Professionals looking to build relevant skills can explore an AI Learning Path for Product Managers designed for the same workflows the new platform targets.

Why this matters for product development teams

Apogy targets the messy middle between creative design and factory-ready specs-a phase where fragmented data and manual handoffs routinely eat up weeks. By automating low-value tasks and making product data instantly accessible, teams can redirect time toward fit, materials innovation, and cost engineering rather than chasing version control. For department leads, the platform's ability to preserve institutional knowledge also lowers the risk that one departure stalls entire collections. The concrete takeaway: agentic AI is no longer a lab experiment. It is being deployed in production environments now, and the competitive gap between teams that centralize their product data and those that do not will widen quickly.
