Omantel Launches AI Centre and Startup Program to Accelerate Product Development
Omantel has opened an AI Centre of Excellence and paired it with a startup program designed to move AI applications from testing into commercial products. The centre provides startups with infrastructure, data environments, technical expertise, and access to Omantel's operational systems.
Five startups currently in the program-Decoil, Remedy, ORKI, DeepAstra, and Wiya-will develop AI products across telecommunications, financial services, energy, healthcare, and government sectors. They gain access to Omantel's systems and regional partnerships to accelerate growth.
How the Program Works
The AI Startups Program connects technology companies with Omantel's internal teams and live operational environments. Startups co-create solutions rather than building in isolation, then move from experimentation into commercialization with support from an established operator.
Participating startups benefit from Omantel's advanced infrastructure and specialized technical expertise. The arrangement gives startups real-world testing grounds while giving Omantel a pipeline of products it can deploy across its business.

The initiative sits within Omantel's "Everyone AI" strategy, which aims to scale AI adoption across industries while supporting the country's digital transformation goals. Aladdin Baitfadhil, Omantel's chief executive, said the program "brings together technology startups, operational expertise, and real-world implementation environments to accelerate the development of digital products capable of competing regionally and globally."
