OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Work, a tool designed to help marketing teams automate campaign reporting and data analysis, as shown in a demonstration video on its YouTube channel. The move signals a push to embed AI deeper into enterprise marketing workflows, reducing manual work on performance readouts.
Automating campaign reporting
In the demo, a user asks ChatGPT Work to review a recent campaign performance document and a marketing brief stored in Google Docs. The system identifies the files, links them, and then creates an 11-slide leadership presentation using a pre-existing template. ChatGPT Work said it ran checks on visual overflow, placeholder consistency, and template fidelity before making the PowerPoint file available for download.
The process eliminates the repetitive task of manually building slide decks from raw campaign data. Instead of copying charts and formatting slides, a marketer can prompt the system and receive a complete, branded presentation in minutes.
Pulling data from multiple sources
The tool can also update existing reports with fresh data from connected platforms. In the video, the user instructs ChatGPT Work to analyze attached email data and use the Adobe Marketing Agent to pull current performance across channels and audience segments from Adobe Experience Cloud. The system responded: "I'll inspect the existing deck and its design, analyze the CSV, and use the Adobe Marketing Agent for current cross-channel and audience-segment performance. Then I'll add a concise performance-and-recommendations section that fits the deck's visual language."
After processing, ChatGPT Work confirmed it had updated the 14-slide deck with new metrics, highlighted weekly performance trends and channel data, and added specific recommendations-including an $85,000 reallocation to paid social and a note on pipeline attribution. The final deck was rendered and visually verified.
Sharing insights with the team
Beyond building reports, ChatGPT Work connects to collaboration tools. The demo shows a user telling the system to share the updated deck and an executive summary to a Slack channel for an upcoming review meeting. ChatGPT Work posted the file and summary, including recommended decisions and the attribution caveat, and confirmed the post appeared correctly.
This end-to-end flow-from insight to brief to shareable output-aims to cut down the administrative load on marketing teams, letting them focus on strategic improvements for future campaigns.
Why this matters for marketing professionals
For marketing teams running frequent campaigns, the time spent on manual reporting adds up quickly. ChatGPT Work's ability to pull data from tools like Adobe and Google Docs, build branded decks, and share them in Slack means fewer hours lost to formatting and data wrangling. The direct integration with existing martech stacks makes adoption practical. As pressure grows to show campaign ROI faster, automated reporting can give teams quicker access to insights and more time for creative and strategic work.
