Rakuten Advertising Launches Mirai, an AI Agent for Affiliate Campaign Management
Rakuten Advertising released Mirai on May 6, a conversational AI agent designed to simplify affiliate campaign creation and optimization. The tool lets advertisers build and manage affiliate offers through natural language instead of manual configuration.
Mirai handles three core functions: recommending commission structures based on business goals, generating code and backend configuration automatically, and automating campaign details like promotional dates. The agent processes requests in plain English and executes the technical work behind the scenes.
What This Means for Marketing Teams
Affiliate program management typically requires technical setup work that slows down campaign launches. Mirai compresses that workflow. Instead of configuring commission structures manually or waiting for engineering support, advertisers describe what they want to achieve and let the agent handle implementation.
Adam Rostan, Chief Product Officer at Rakuten Advertising, said the tool applies "strategic intelligence to the everyday work of managing affiliate programs." The company positioned Mirai as a way to free teams from operational overhead so they can focus on strategy.
What's Available Now and What's Coming
Affiliate offer creation and management are live today. Rakuten plans to expand Mirai's capabilities across the full program lifecycle-partner identification, recruitment, performance optimization, and reporting-over the coming months.
The launch reflects Rakuten's broader investment in proprietary AI tools for advertisers. The company said this is "just the beginning" of what Mirai can do.
