Splice and ElevenLabs partner on AI audio tools for music creators
Music creation platform Splice has partnered with AI audio company ElevenLabs to build generative AI tools for music producers and artists. The companies plan to release the tools later this year.
The partnership gives Splice access to ElevenLabs' text-to-speech and voice generation models. ElevenLabs will embed its audio technology directly into Splice's platform, allowing creators to access studio-grade audio without leaving their workflow.
"In this second wave of AI in music, the creator comes first," said Kakul Srivastava, CEO of Splice. "We're building responsible products from the ground up, and our partnership with ElevenLabs gives us access to powerful models to help shape what those experiences can be."
Mati Staniszewski, cofounder of ElevenLabs, said the integration would bring the company's capabilities "directly to the artists and creators shaping the future of music."
Splice's broader AI strategy
This partnership fits into Splice's recent focus on creator-first AI. Last month, the platform introduced generative AI features with built-in protections for sample creators' compensation.
In December, Splice announced a separate partnership with Universal Music Group to develop commercial AI tools for its creator community. Earlier this year, Splice also acquired Kits AI, a voice production platform, to further develop its AI offerings.
Splice operates a music creation platform with a library of royalty-free samples, sounds, and presets. The company has roughly 7 million users. ElevenLabs specializes in text-to-speech AI and voice generation technology.
