Stash Raises $146 Million to Integrate AI into Financial Guidance

Stash has secured $146 million in a Series H funding round to expand its use of artificial intelligence within its financial guidance platform. The company plans to enhance how users save, invest, and build long-term wealth by embedding AI-driven insights at the core of its services.

According to Stash Co-Founder and Co-CEO Ed Robinson, the platform has supported millions in managing their financial futures over the past decade. Now, with this new investment, Stash aims to deepen that impact through AI-powered intelligence.

Platform Growth and AI Engagement

Stash currently serves 1.3 million paying subscribers and oversees $4.3 billion in assets under management. A recent addition to the platform, Money Coach AI, has recorded 2.2 million customer interactions. About 25% of users who engaged with this AI-driven tool proceeded to take meaningful financial actions such as investing, depositing funds, or diversifying their portfolios.

Investor Confidence and Industry Impact

Goodwater Capital, led by founder and managing partner Chi-Hua Chien, spearheaded the funding round. Chien highlighted Stash’s focus on innovation and growth, emphasizing the company's dedication to transforming how consumers interact with their finances using AI.

“Stash isn’t just enhancing its platform with AI — it’s changing the way people engage with their money,” Chien said. This momentum signals a new phase in FinTech development, supported by strong investor confidence.

Growing Demand for Personal Finance Advice

Economic uncertainty has increased consumer interest in personal finance guidance. A recent report by PYMNTS Intelligence and NCR Voyix found that 57% of Americans sought personal finance advice in 2023. Among those who never received such advice, nearly 75% are now open to it, and over half plan to seek guidance within the next three years.

New Tools in Financial Wellness

  • DailyPay introduced “Credit Health” in September, a financial wellness feature offering credit scores, reports, monitoring alerts, and insights into credit factors.
  • Brightfin launched a financial wellness app in July targeting younger consumers, helping them better understand and manage their money.

These developments underscore the growing integration of technology and AI in personal finance tools, aiming to help users make informed financial decisions.
