Ukraine’s government resources are under constant threat, facing around 100,000 cyberattacks each month. Mykhailo Fedorov, head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, shared this alarming statistic during the NV event “The Great Digital Transformation. Dialogues about the Future.”

“Believe me, the number of attacks happening in cyberspace is incredible. We face 100,000 attacks every month. The state is handling this challenge quite well,” Fedorov said.

AI-Powered Defense on the Frontline

To counter these threats, every employee at the Ministry uses AI-based software that monitors laptop activity and responds instantly to any unusual behavior. This system has already detected several viruses that traditional antivirus programs overlooked.

“If there are anomalies, the system reacts immediately. This way, we have already detected several viruses that even antivirus programs missed,” Fedorov added.

Rapid Response and Funding Support

Quick reaction to cyberattacks is critical for protecting government assets. The Ministry has secured funding through an agreement with a major donor, enabling tenders focused on cybersecurity improvements for both public and private institutions.

Earlier in 2025, CERT-UA specialist Yevhen Bryksin reported over a thousand cyberattacks by Russian hackers targeting Ukrainian organizations since the start of the year.
