Upshop Adds AI Decision-Making Layer to Grocery Store Operations
Upshop, an AI software company serving grocery and convenience stores, announced new capabilities at its Altitude 2026 conference in Denver that automate operational decisions across inventory, labor, and waste management.
The company introduced Cockpit, a platform layer that converts data insights into real-time tasks for store teams. Rather than presenting analytics for human interpretation, Cockpit identifies priority actions and guides execution across multiple locations simultaneously.
Upshop's system monitors demand signals, inventory levels, staffing needs, and waste patterns, then automatically recommends specific actions store managers should take. The company said this shifts retailers from reacting to problems after they occur to addressing them before they impact customers or margins.
New Products and Integrations
Commissary 360, a new addition to Upshop's platform, centralizes production planning for prepared foods across multiple store locations. The tool aligns output with actual demand forecasts, helping reduce waste and maintain consistency in fresh operations.
The company also launched an Elevate program designed to speed migration of existing customers to its cloud-based platform. The program includes standardized implementation pathways and loyalty incentives to reduce disruption during the upgrade process.
Upshop 360 now includes an open API that lets retailers integrate the software with existing systems for ordering, forecasting, and inventory management.
Current Scale
Upshop serves more than 450 retailers across 55,000 stores globally. The company works with grocers and convenience store operators across categories including foodservice, general merchandise, and e-commerce.
