Veeam appoints Mika Yamamoto chief marketing and customer AI officer

Veeam Software has appointed Mika Yamamoto as its Chief Marketing and Customer AI Officer. Yamamoto will lead global marketing and own the company's customer-AI framework, aiming to make every customer interaction more relevant and informed. The move assigns marketing leadership a central role in shaping AI-driven customer experiences - a sign of how CMO responsibilities are expanding beyond traditional demand generation.

A career bridging marketing and AI

Yamamoto joins Veeam from Freshworks, where as Chief Integrated Customer Growth Officer she led AI-powered customer and employee experience across marketing, sales, customer success, and support. Before Freshworks, she held senior marketing and customer experience roles at F5, where she modernized data practices and digitized the end-to-end customer experience. She also served as President of Marketo through its acquisition by Adobe, and held leadership roles at SAP, Microsoft, Gartner, and Accenture. Yamamoto serves on the board of BlackLine.
