AI agent for fraud analysts
Chargeback and Dispute Fraud Review Agent
Decide fast which chargebacks to contest and file complete, rule-compliant evidence.
What it does
A chargeback can be real fraud, an honest mistake or a customer who got the product and disputes it anyway, and sorting them takes hours of searching across systems. This agent reads each chargeback and gathers the order, device, IP address, delivery proof and customer history. It scores how likely the dispute is friendly fraud, for example when the same device and address bought before without issue. For those it drafts the evidence package with timeline and proofs, then checks it against the card network's rules for required fields and deadlines. If something is missing, it searches again before giving up. The analyst approves every submission.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Chargeback notice arrives
- Pull order, payment, device, IP and delivery data
- Pull the customer's earlier orders and disputes
- Score likelihood of friendly fraud and note the signals
- Choose whether to contest or accept
- Draft the evidence package with timeline
- Does the package meet the network rules and the deadline? If not: search for missing proof such as signatures or logs and rebuild. Back to step 6.
- Check the amount and reason code against the record
- Analyst approves submission or acceptanceThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Filed response and a case log
How it decides
It contests when the evidence of delivery and prior good history is strong, and recommends accepting the loss when the evidence points to genuine fraud.
- Recommend contesting when delivery is confirmed and the device matches earlier orders
- Recommend accepting when the card was used from a new device and a new address
- Skip contesting if the cost to respond exceeds the amount
- Prioritize cases with 3 days or less to the deadline
Make it yours
Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.
- Cost threshold for contesting (default $25)

- Deadline alert days (default 3)

What keeps you in control
It always asks you first
- Analyst approves each submission
- Analyst approves accepting a chargeback
Hard limits
- Never submits a response itself
- Does not label a customer as a fraudster in writing
It stops when
- Done: response submitted or accepted by the analyst
- Stop: deadline passes without the needed evidence
