Goal Adjustment Agent

Keep goals challenging and reachable

Goal Adjustment Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Goals should change as clients progress, but many coaches leave them untouched for months. Every four weeks this agent compares each client's goals with actual results from check-ins and trackers. It sorts goals into on track, too easy or too hard, using how far results are ahead of or behind the planned pace. It drafts adjusted goals with a short reason for each, for the coach to discuss with the client. After the session, it records the agreed goals. Four weeks later it checks whether the new level fits. If it is still too easy or too hard, it suggests another adjustment. The coach and client agree every new goal. Edge case: weight loss faster than a safe pace is flagged for the coach to discuss with the client and their doctor.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

An example run

What happensOn June 1, the agent reviewed 12 clients for dietitian Ana Cole. Client Ben Ward's goal of 10,000 steps a day was met 27 of 28 days, so it marked the goal too easy and drafted 12,000. The check on the draft found it clashed with his plantar fasciitis note, so it looped back and proposed two strength sessions instead. Ana approved the change and discussed it with Ben.
