AI agent for corporate counsels
Legal Defined-Term Consistency Agent
Consistent defined terms without accidental meaning changes.
What it does
Defined terms in contracts drift during revisions, so 'Supplier' in one clause becomes 'Vendor' in another. That creates ambiguity. When a draft is revised, this agent finds every reference that does not use the defined term. It decides whether a correction is purely mechanical, such as a capitalization or a stray synonym. Mechanical corrections are applied as tracked changes and the affected clauses are rechecked. Anything that could change legal meaning, quotations from other documents and intentional uses are left for lawyer review. The lawyer accepts changes. Edge case: 'Vendor' appears in a clause quoting a third-party agreement, so the agent leaves it alone and notes why.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
