What it does

Internal legal research notes keep broken or outdated citations, which slows lawyers and risks errors. During periodic maintenance this agent parses every citation in the notes and resolves each one through authorized research sources. It flags citations that are missing, changed or possibly superseded, with the evidence it found. It patches citation metadata, such as links and reporter details, in a draft. It never says whether an authority is still good law; that is assigned to a lawyer. The knowledge manager assigns substantive review. Edge case: a statute section was renumbered, so the agent updates the link but flags the note for a lawyer to confirm the content still applies.

An example run

What happensIn the June run the agent parsed 1,830 citations. It could not resolve 22 on the first lookup, so the check failed for those and it tried a second permitted source, which resolved 15. Seven were flagged as missing. Four citations showed later amendments and were marked for substantive review. The knowledge manager assigned them to two associates on June 12.
