AI agent for dietitians

Meal Plan Safety Check Agent

Meal plans that are safe and on target

Meal Plan Safety Check Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Meal plans must hit the client's targets and avoid allergens and food-drug problems, and checking every day by hand is slow. This agent reads a draft plan and calculates nutrients per day from a nutrition database. It checks each day against energy and protein targets, sodium or potassium limits, allergies and intolerances. It also checks drug-nutrient issues the dietitian has listed for the client, such as keeping vitamin K steady with warfarin. For days that fail, it suggests swaps for the meals that cause the problem, then recalculates and checks again. The dietitian approves the plan before the client sees it. Edge case: a food the database cannot identify is flagged rather than guessed.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

An example run

What happensDietitian Omar Haddad drafted a 7-day plan for a client with a peanut allergy who takes warfarin. The agent calculated nutrients and found day 4 had a satay sauce and day 6 had large kale portions. The check failed, so it looped back, swapped the sauce and evened out vitamin K across the week. All checks passed. Omar approved, and the plan went to the client.
