AI agent for law students

Moot Court Argument Prep Agent

A student ready for hard bench questions

Moot Court Argument Prep Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Moot court rounds are won on handling tough bench questions, but students rarely get enough practice. For a moot court problem, this agent reads both briefs and the record and lists the weakest points in the student's argument and likely bench questions. It runs practice rounds where it asks questions with follow-ups and the student answers. It checks each answer for a direct response, an accurate record cite and a return to the roadmap. Indirect answers are repeated, wrong record cites are flagged and answers over the time limit are noted. Questions answered poorly come back in later rounds until handled well. The student decides when they are ready. Edge case: the student cites a record page that does not support the fact, so the agent flags it before the competition.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

An example run

What happensBefore a November 2 moot court round, the agent listed six weak points and 25 likely bench questions. In the first practice round, the check failed on four answers: two were not direct, one cited record page 34 for a fact that is on page 43, and one never returned to the roadmap. The agent repeated those questions in two more rounds. All answers passed in round three, and the student decided she was ready.
