AI agent for warehouse managers

New Hire Warehouse Ramp Agent

Bring each new hire to full productivity safely, with training done before restricted tasks.

New Hire Warehouse Ramp Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

A new hire is put on a forklift or a pick line on day one and gets hurt or makes costly errors. This agent builds a training and shadowing plan for each start date and tracks completion in the training log. At set points it checks performance numbers against ramp targets, such as picks per hour and error rate. Anyone behind gets extra coaching tasks. The agent holds the person off restricted tasks until the required training is signed off. The manager approves task sign-offs and release to full duty. Edge case: a hire with prior forklift certification still completes the site-specific safety training first.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides

Allows a task only when its training is signed off and compares weekly performance with the ramp curve.

  • Safety training first, always
  • Ramp target by week: 50, 70, 85, 100% of standard rate
  • Two weeks below target adds coaching
  • Restricted tasks need signed training

Make it yours

Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.

  • Ramp targets by week
  • Training sequence
  • Restricted tasks
  • Coaching options
  • Ramp length (default 8 weeks)

What keeps you in control

It always asks you first

  • Task sign-offs
  • Release to full duty
  • Any extension of the ramp period

Hard limits

  • Never allow restricted tasks without sign-off
  • Never change a safety requirement

It stops when

  • Done: hire at full duty
  • Stop: hire leaves
  • Stop: safety incident, manager reviews

An example run

What happensA new picker starts Monday. The plan schedules safety on day one and forklift training on day four. On day two the roster assigns the person to a forklift task. The training check fails, so the agent holds the task and reschedules. At week 3 the picker is at 62% against a 70% target. The agent adds two coaching sessions. By week 5 the picker reaches 88%.
