What it does

When a prescription transfers in from another pharmacy, details are often missing: refills remaining, last fill date, prescriber, quantity. This agent reads each incoming transfer and checks it against the required fields. It lists what is missing and drafts a request to the sending pharmacy. After the pharmacist approves, it sends the request. If the sending pharmacy does not reply in the set time, it tries a second contact and tells the pharmacist. When the details arrive, it rechecks everything, including controlled substance rules such as transfer limits. Edge case: the transfer lists more refills than allowed for a controlled drug, so the agent flags it for the pharmacist.
