AI agent for category managers
Private Label Opportunity Agent
Find private label candidates from sales data, test margin and sourcing with quotes, and build a shortlist
What it does
Private label items chosen by hunch can fail on the shelf. The agent finds high-volume items with weak brand loyalty, such as many substitutes and frequent promotion switching. It estimates margin and sourcing cost for an own-brand version and lists possible suppliers. It then drafts quote requests and checks the returned quotes against the margin target and quality standards. If a quote is too high, it tests alternatives, such as another supplier or pack size. It proposes a ranked shortlist with the data. The manager approves the shortlist and any quote request. Edge case: a top-selling item has strong brand loyalty, so the agent drops it from the list.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
