Product Claims Substantiation Agent

Every claim on pack is substantiated

Product Claims Substantiation Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Marketing teams propose claims like low fat or high protein, and each one must meet a legal definition in that market. This agent reads proposed claims, matches them with the regulatory criteria, and checks the formula and nutrition data. It lists each claim as pass, fail or needs more data, with the rule behind it, and suggests compliant wording where a claim fails. When the formula changes, it rechecks every existing claim. Before print, it compares the artwork wording with the approved claim word for word, since a small change can change the legal meaning. If the artwork differs, it lists the differences for the design team and checks the next proof. You approve claims before they go on artwork. Edge case: a natural claim with no legal definition is flagged for company policy review.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

An example run

What happensMarketing proposed four claims for a new oat drink: high fiber, low sugar, a source of calcium and heart healthy. The agent found fiber at 2.1 g per serving, short of the 2.5 g needed for high fiber, and suggested good source wording. Heart healthy needed more data. On the artwork check the proof still said high fiber, so the agent sent the difference to design and rechecked the next proof. The food scientist approved three claims.
