AI agent for founders

Product Name Clearance Agent

A shortlist of names with no obvious trademark, domain or handle conflicts

Product Name Clearance Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Picking a product name means checking trademarks, domains and social handles before money goes into branding. Founders often fall in love with a name and find a conflict later. This agent takes a shortlist of names and searches public trademark databases in the chosen countries and classes. It checks domain and social handle availability and looks for similar names already used in the same market. Names with identical or confusingly similar marks in the same class are dropped. It then checks how many clear names remain; if fewer than three, it generates variations of the strongest names and searches again. It builds a clearance table showing risks for each name. The founder picks the name and decides whether to consult a trademark lawyer before filing. Edge case: a name is free as a word, but a similar logo mark exists in the same class, so the agent marks it as risky rather than clear.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

  • Only public databases used

An example run

What happensA founder submitted eight names for a budgeting app. Five had conflicts in class 9 and one had no usable domain, leaving two. The check needed three clear names, so it failed. The agent generated six variations of the strongest name and searched again; two passed, giving four clear names. The founder chose one and booked a trademark lawyer review.
