The Game Crafter MCP server
by alex-gon
Design, manage, and price your tabletop games on The Game Crafter by chatting with your AI.

This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to The Game Crafter, a site where you can make real printed board games and card games. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI to look at your game projects, add parts like card decks or boards, upload artwork, and check what it would cost to print. It is made for indie board game designers and anyone who uses The Game Crafter and would rather talk than click through menus.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to The Game Crafter, so it can look up your games and components there and make changes for you when you ask. You stay in the chat, and the helper does the back and forth with The Game Crafter behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like show me my games or add a poker deck to my project. The AI sends that request to this helper. The helper signs in to The Game Crafter with your account and asks the site for what you wanted. Then it brings the answer back into your chat, as a list, a summary, or a confirmation that the change was made. For things like pricing, it collects the numbers and shows you a breakdown.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- List all your game projects and their components
- Browse the catalog of printable parts like cards, boards, and boxes
- Create a new game project under one of your designer profiles
- Add card decks, boards, or other parts to a game
- Upload artwork from your computer or a web link
- Get a per-component cost estimate for a game
- Update a game's name, description, or visibility
- Delete a game project you no longer need
Try asking your AI
- “Show me all my games on The Game Crafter with their component lists”
- “Create a new card game called Stellar Drift with a standard poker deck and a tuck box”
- “What pixel dimensions do I need for a poker card face image?”
- “Estimate the cost of my game based on its current components”
- “Upload this image and assign it as the front face of my card deck”
What it gives back to you
You get answers right in the chat. That can be a list of your games, a summary of one game with its parts and files, the pixel sizes you need for artwork, or a pricing breakdown by component. When you ask it to change something, it tells you what it did, like that a component was added or a game was created. Uploads come back as a confirmation that the file is now on The Game Crafter.
Before you start
