CoS Codex Bridge

by AV-Labs-Co

Lets your AI assistant hand off coding work to Codex and follow the same task to the end.

CoS Codex Bridge is a small helper program you install on your own computer. It lets an AI assistant that acts like a chief of staff hand real coding work over to Codex, send the whole prompt, and keep following the same task. It is handy if you plan work in one AI chat but want the actual building done in Codex.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another tool. This one connects your assistant to Codex, or in a beta version to Claude Code, so the assistant can find projects, send prompts and check progress for you. You ask in plain words, and the helper quietly does the running around.

What this MCP server does

You tell your AI assistant what you want done, for example send this brief to Codex. The assistant uses this helper to look up the right project and task. The helper passes your whole prompt to Codex and gives back a receipt, which is a small record showing what was sent and where it stands. Later you can ask the assistant to read the progress, answer a question from Codex, or continue in the same task. Everything stays on your machine and inside folders you have allowed.

What you can do with it

  • Create a new Codex project from an idea or a piece of research
  • Send a complete prompt without copying and pasting by hand
  • Find an existing task and continue the same conversation
  • Track delivery with receipts instead of guessing
  • Rename, pin or cancel work inside approved projects
  • Answer a question Codex asks before it continues
  • Keep all project access inside folders you allow

Try asking your AI

  • “Find my app project and send this implementation brief to Codex, then watch it until it finishes”
  • “What is the status of the task I sent this morning, and did it complete”
  • “Continue that same Codex task with these review findings”
  • “Codex asked a question, here is my answer, please pass it back”

What it gives back to you

You get clear answers in your chat: which project and task matched, the receipt for what was sent, a short progress update, and whether the work is still running, done, waiting or blocked. It can also show hashes and task details if you want proof. It never pretends a queued item means work has started. You still need to test the result, because a finished model reply is not proof the code works.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js 22 or newer and npm installed on your computer
  • A local AI client that supports MCP, such as the assistant you use
  • A signed-in Codex command line tool for Codex work, or Claude Code for the beta route
  • An approved project folder that you are happy for the assistant to work in

Good to know

Depending on your setup it can change files in the project folders you approve, so keep the default read-only mode until you are ready and only allow folders you trust; prompts and files are stored in plain text on your own machine, and a finished reply does not prove the code works.

Install it with your AI

Add CoS Codex Bridge to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check CoS Codex Bridge, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,609 MCP servers here for you.
