ShopScout is a helper that lets your AI search products in the Shopify catalog and compare offers and shipping options for you. It is made by ForgeMesh and connects your AI to their ShopScout service. It is handy if you do product research or compare prices and shipping, and you want your AI to do the looking for you.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to ShopScout, a service that searches the Shopify catalog and compares offers and shipping. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI to look things up, and it will use this helper to get real answers for you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like find me offers for this product in this country. Your AI passes that request to this helper program. The helper talks to the ShopScout service, which searches the Shopify catalog and gathers product details, offers and shipping rules. The service sends back the results, and your AI shows them to you in the chat. Each paid lookup costs a small amount of USDC, a kind of digital money, on the Base network.

What it gives back to you

You get back lists of products, offers or shipping plans, along with details like prices, currencies and delivery estimates. The results appear in your chat as text, often as a table or list. Paid results also include a note about the small fee that was paid. Some fields, like taxes or duties, may be marked unknown if the service does not have that information.

The wallet's private key, passed through your MCP client's settings
