Crafty Controller MCP server
Let your AI start, stop, back up and command your Minecraft servers through Crafty Controller.

This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to Crafty Controller 4, the panel many people use to run Minecraft servers. Once it is set up, you can just type what you want in plain words, like starting a server or sending a message to players, and the AI does it for you. It is handy if you already run one or more Minecraft servers through Crafty and would rather not click around the panel for every small thing.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app. This one connects your AI to your Crafty Controller panel, so it can look things up there and do things for you. You ask in normal words, and the helper passes the request to Crafty and brings the answer back.
What this MCP server does
You type a request in your AI chat, like asking which servers are running or telling it to start one. The AI uses this helper, which talks to your Crafty Controller panel using your login details. Crafty then does the actual work, such as starting the server, sending a console command, or making a backup. The helper brings the result back, and the AI shows it to you in the chat. You never have to open the Crafty website yourself.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- List your Minecraft servers and see which ones are running
- Start, stop, restart or force-kill a server
- Send a command to a server console, like giving someone op
- Trigger a backup and list or restore your existing backups
- Read and edit server files such as server.properties
- Set up scheduled tasks, like a daily backup at 3 AM
- Create webhooks that post to Discord when something happens
Try asking your AI
- “What servers are running right now?”
- “Start my SMP server and tell me when it is up”
- “Send say Server restarting in 5 minutes to the survival server”
- “Back up all my servers and show me the list afterwards”
- “Show me the server.properties file for my SMP server”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in your chat, usually as short lists or summaries. For example, asking which servers are running gives you the names and some live numbers like CPU, memory and how many players are online. When you ask for a file, the AI shows you its contents. When you ask it to do something, like start a server or make a backup, it tells you whether the action worked.
Before you start
What you need
- A running Crafty Controller 4 panel you can reach from your computer
- Your Crafty panel address, like https://localhost:8443
- An API token from your Crafty profile page (Crafty gives you one when you click Generate Key)
- Node.js installed on your computer, since the helper runs with npx
Good to know
This helper can change and delete real things on your servers, including files, backups, scheduled tasks and user accounts, so read what the AI is about to do before you say yes.
