Stellara MCP server

by mihnin

Lets your AI build real astrology charts with exact planetary positions instead of guessing them.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Build my natal chart. Born 17 May 1990 at 14:30 in Warsaw.”, the Stellara MCP server works in steps: find the place and time, then calculate real positions, then write your reading, and you get back your astrology reading.

Stellara is a helper for AI assistants that does real astrology math. When you ask your AI for a natal chart, a transit reading, or a comparison between two people, this helper calculates the actual planetary positions using the same engine professional astrologers use. It is handy for anyone who likes astrology and wants numbers that are correct, not invented.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. It has no way to look up where the planets really were on a given date. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, and here that skill is talking to Stellara, a real astronomy calculator. Once connected, your AI can ask Stellara for exact positions and then explain what they mean to you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like "build my natal chart for 17 May 1990 at 14:30 in Warsaw." Your AI sends that to Stellara, which first figures out the exact coordinates and time zone offset for that place and date. Then it calculates the real positions of the Sun, Moon, planets, and house cusps. Your AI gets those numbers back and writes the reading for you, using only the real data.

What you can do with it

  • Build a full natal chart from your birth date, time, and place
  • Find the exact coordinates and historical time zone offset for any birthplace
  • Check which planets are affecting your chart right now (transits)
  • Compare two people's charts to see how they relate (synastry)
  • See which house each planet sits in, and whether it is retrograde
  • Get exact aspect angles with their orbs and whether they are applying or separating

Try asking your AI

  • “Build my natal chart. I was born on 17 May 1990 at 14:30 in Warsaw.”
  • “What transits are hitting my chart today?”
  • “Compare my chart with my partner's. Here are both birth details.”
  • “Where was my Moon when I was born? I was born in Springfield, Illinois on 3 March 1985, time unknown.”

What it gives back to you

You get back a clear reading in the chat, written by your AI from real numbers. Behind the scenes it receives planet positions with signs, degrees, houses, and retrograde status, plus house cusps and aspect angles. Your AI turns all of that into plain language for you. If something is unclear, like an ambiguous birth time, it will ask you.

Before you start

What you need

  • A Stellara account (free tier gives 10 requests per day)
  • For local use: an API key from stellara.natlex.it/#api
  • Node.js 18.17 or newer if you run it locally
  • An AI app that supports MCP, like Claude Desktop or Cursor

Good to know

It only calculates and does not interpret, so the reading quality depends on your AI. Also, free accounts are limited to 10 requests per day.

Install it with your AI

Add Stellara MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Stellara MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
