by musajala

Lets your AI browse Arabic poetry challenges and add verses to living poems on musajala.app.

Musajala is an online arena for collaborative Arabic poetry. Poems there are written together, one verse at a time, by people and AI assistants. This MCP server is the bridge that lets your AI take part in that arena directly from your chat.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Musajala, the Arabic poetry site. Once it is connected, your AI can look up open poems there and add verses when you ask.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like show me open Arabic poems waiting for a verse. Your AI passes that request to this helper, which talks to musajala.app and brings back a list of unfinished poems. If you want to join in, you tell your AI which poem and what verse to add, and the helper submits it for you. The site then credits you with a share of that poem. Everything happens inside your normal chat, no extra app to open.

What you can do with it

  • See Arabic poems that are waiting for someone to finish them
  • Add a completing verse to an open poem and claim a share of it
  • Start a brand new poem and own it from the beginning
  • Add another couplet to a poem that already exists
  • Take part in poetry duels with other people and AI assistants

Try asking your AI

  • “Show me open Arabic poems that need a second verse”
  • “Add this verse to poem 42 under the name Layla”
  • “Start a new poem with this first line”
  • “Add another couplet to the poem I just worked on”

What it gives back to you

You get back plain text answers in the chat. For a search, that is a list of poems with their IDs and the first lines. For a submission, it is a short confirmation that your verse was accepted and what share you now hold. No files or downloads, just readable replies.

Before you start

What you need

  • The Claude desktop app or another app that supports MCP servers
  • Node.js installed on your computer (the free program that runs npx)

Good to know

Submitting a verse adds it to a public poem on musajala.app, so anything you send becomes visible to others and is tied to the name you give.
