proxy-shopping MCP server
by pad01g
Let your AI buy from cash-only shops using crypto held in escrow, or help you earn as a shopper.
This is a helper for your AI that connects it to the proxy-shopping network. That is a small online network where a real person (a 'proxy shopper') buys something from a shop for you and ships it, while your crypto payment waits safely in escrow. It is handy if you want to order from shops that only take cash, or that your usual payment methods cannot reach.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, in this case a connection to the proxy-shopping network. Once connected, your AI can look up trusted shoppers, ask for a price, pay into escrow, and track your order when you ask it to. It is like giving your AI a phone line to a shopping service.
What this MCP server does
You tell your AI what you want to buy and from which shop. Your AI uses this helper to find trusted shopper and escrow pairs for that shop. It asks one of them for a quote, checks the price against its own sources, and shows you the details. If you say yes, your AI moves your crypto into an escrow account that nobody can touch alone. When the parcel arrives you tell your AI, and it releases the payment to the shopper.
What you can do with it
- Find trusted shoppers and escrow agents for a shop you name
- Request a quote and see the fees, rate check and timelocks
- Pay into escrow and track the order status
- Confirm you received the items so the shopper gets paid
- Open a dispute and let the escrow decide a fair split
- Get your money back yourself after the timelock if needed
- See the plan and files you need to earn as a proxy shopper
Try asking your AI
- “Find me a trusted shopper for this shop in Japan that only takes cash”
- “Get a quote for 2 of these items shipped to my address”
- “Show me the status of my order and what the next step is”
- “The parcel arrived, please release the payment to the shopper”
What it gives back to you
You get short written answers in the chat, like the list of trusted shoppers, the quote details, or the current order status. The same information also comes back in a structured form your AI can read carefully. When something moves money, it first shows you what would happen, then does it only after you confirm.
Before you start
What you need
- An AI client that can use MCP servers, such as Claude Desktop or Claude Code
- Docker installed, or Node.js 22 or newer if you run it without Docker
- A crypto wallet funded with test BTC on signet (the network is new and coins there have no real value yet)
Good to know
Some tools move your crypto or reveal your secret recovery words, so only confirm them after you have read what your AI shows and you are sure it is right.
