JAKARTA – The government is focused on integrating industrial areas like Batamindo into the national artificial intelligence (AI) technology ecosystem. Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, emphasized strategic actions to accelerate the country's digital transformation.
"We want to speed up the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure," Nezar said during an official broadcast while reviewing the Batamindo industrial zone.
He highlighted that expertise in advanced technologies such as AI is a critical factor in today’s global competition, affecting both geopolitical and economic positions.
"New technologies, often referred to as deep tech, are vital in geopolitical and economic terms. Whoever controls this technology gains a dominant position globally," Nezar explained.

"Komdigi focuses on downstream activities by utilizing infrastructure built by the industry. However, we cannot act alone. Collaboration and synergy are essential to align with the government's overarching strategy," he added.
