Accenture Launches Cyber.AI to Automate Security Operations at Machine Speed
Accenture has released Cyber.AI, a security operations platform powered by Anthropic's Claude AI model, designed to help organizations respond to threats faster than traditional human-driven approaches. The solution launched March 25 at RSA 2026.
The platform combines Claude's reasoning capabilities with Accenture's proprietary security agents and 30,000+ cybersecurity professionals to automate workflows across the security lifecycle. It handles tasks from initial assessment through threat detection and response.
Why Operations Teams Need This Now
Attackers are compressing timelines. According to the World Economic Forum's 2026 Global Cyber Outlook Report, nearly nine in 10 organizations now identify AI-related vulnerabilities as their fastest-growing cyber risk. Traditional security controls built for human response speeds can't keep pace.
"Adversaries are using AI to compress attack timelines from weeks to hours," said Damon McDougald, global Cybersecurity Services lead at Accenture. "With Claude at the core of Cyber.AI, we can help organizations operate at machine speed and scale."
What Cyber.AI Does
The platform orchestrates AI agents across critical security domains: identity and access management, cyber defense, secure digital infrastructure, and cyber resilience. It includes Agent Shield, a component that monitors and governs autonomous AI agents in real-time to ensure they stay within organizational policies.
Claude serves as the reasoning engine, synthesizing security data and providing context across the entire security lifecycle. The system enhances Claude's built-in safety controls with enterprise-grade governance.
Real Results From Early Deployment
Accenture tested Cyber.AI internally across its own infrastructure, securing 1,600 applications and over 500,000 APIs. The results show what operations teams can expect:
- Security scan turnaround times dropped from three to five days to under one hour
- Testing coverage expanded from 10% to over 80%
- Service delivery improved by 35%
- Critical vulnerability backlogs fell significantly
A Fortune 500 agriculture company used Cyber.AI to accelerate identity platform migrations and enhance IAM operations, automating complex processes while strengthening resilience.
How It Fits Into Your Operations
Cyber.AI integrates with existing security tools and infrastructure rather than replacing them. Operations teams assign agents to specific tasks-triage, remediation, or transformation-and the platform handles execution at scale without increasing manual workload.
The system reduces the burden of managing expanding attack surfaces and growing numbers of non-human identities (service accounts, API tokens, autonomous agents) that traditional security teams struggle to monitor.
For teams managing cybersecurity operations, understanding how AI agents work and how to govern them is increasingly essential. AI for Cybersecurity Analysts covers the foundations of deploying AI in security roles.
"Cybersecurity demands AI that can reason across vast amounts of data, act autonomously through complex workflows, and operate within strict governance boundaries," said Michael Moore, Head of Cybersecurity Products at Anthropic.
