GIFTCL and CoRE-AI Host Workshop on AI in Financial Services
Gujarat International Finance Tec-City Company Limited (GIFTCL), in partnership with the Coalition for Responsible Evolution of AI (CoRE-AI), recently held the first “Workshop on Strategic Adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Financial Services” at the GIFT International Fintech Innovation Hub.
This workshop marked a focused step toward integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into financial services. It supports GIFT City’s vision of becoming a global center for innovation-led finance.
Bringing Industry Leaders Together
Senior leaders from banks, insurance firms, fintech companies, and capital market institutions based in GIFT City gathered alongside AI technology experts. The goal was to explore practical ways AI can enhance efficiency, improve risk management, foster customer-centric innovation, and boost global competitiveness.
The half-day, in-person event began with keynote remarks from GIFTCL, setting the stage for AI adoption in banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI).
Key Sessions and Discussions
- AI’s Role in Finance: Abhinav Nayar, CEO of Mool AI, spoke on how AI is reshaping financial institutions, aligning with GIFT City’s innovation goals.
- Sector-Specific Use Cases: Sameer Gupta from Amazon Web Services presented practical AI applications across banking, payments, insurance, capital markets, and asset management.
After lunch, sessions focused on regulatory, ethical, and operational challenges of AI integration:
- Ethics and Governance: Jameela Sahiba and Kamesh Shekar from CoRE-AI emphasized the need for responsible AI deployment, covering ethical frameworks and compliance.
- Institutional Readiness: Manish Verma and Devender Chaudhary of Salesforce discussed infrastructure requirements, policy support, and readiness for sustainable AI adoption.
Next Steps for AI Adoption in GIFT City
The workshop concluded with participants agreeing on a phased and collaborative approach. This includes ongoing knowledge sharing, capacity building, and aligning regulations to accelerate AI integration within the GIFT City ecosystem.
This event is the first in a series under the GIFTCL–CoRE-AI partnership, reinforcing GIFT City’s dedication to responsible innovation and cross-sector collaboration in digital transformation.
