HDC Hyundai Development Launches AI Home Agent in Songpa Hanyang Reconstruction
HDC Hyundai Development has introduced a smart housing solution powered by artificial intelligence (AI) in the Songpa Hanyang 2nd reconstruction project. This marks the first time advanced AI technology designed for daily living is applied in a residential reconstruction setting, centered on the “AI Home Agent” created by HDC Labs, an affiliate of the group.
HDC Labs has formed a dedicated AI team focused on innovating the residential environment with various services. The core feature is the AI home agent wall pad, which allows residents to control key home functions like lighting, heating, and security through simple voice commands or touch. When not in use, the wall pad transforms into an “AI Smart Gallery,” displaying famous artwork or family photos with customizable AI editing features. Essentially, the living room wall becomes a dynamic digital gallery.
Energy Management and Safety Features
The system learns residents’ daily routines to optimize power and heating usage, reducing energy waste. It automatically activates power-saving mode when occupants leave and adjusts heating to the preferred temperature by the time they return. This approach balances convenience with energy efficiency.
Safety and healthcare services are integrated with security controls for real-time monitoring. The AI detects abnormalities instantly and issues warnings. Additionally, it plans to extend monitoring to health data — including heart rate and sleep quality — in partnership with wearable devices.
Proven AI Expertise Extends to Smart Living
HDC Hyundai Development and HDC Labs have a track record of applying AI in areas like electric vehicle fire detection, smart building operations, and data-driven energy management. Their experience includes successful safety controls at construction sites and real estate market analysis using AI.
The Songpa Hanyang 2nd reconstruction project represents a move to embed AI deeply into residential design, expanding into home IoT platforms and healthcare AI services. This initiative positions the development as a step toward creating a comprehensive AI-driven lifestyle platform rather than a standard apartment complex.
An HDC Hyundai Development representative stated, “Through the Songpa Hanyang reconstruction, residents will experience a future residential complex where AI supports daily life.” They added, “We will continue to lead by combining AI technology with thoughtful design to promote smart, healthy living.”
