AI ON US Summit Confronts Global Trust and Governance Gaps in Artificial Intelligence

AI ON US Summit Tackles AI Governance Challenges

Trust in artificial intelligence is a growing concern for governments worldwide. A recent study by KPMG revealed a significant trust gap between the rapid adoption of AI and the maturity of its governance frameworks. Over half of the respondents (54%) expressed distrust in AI, with trust especially low in advanced economies (39%) compared to emerging markets (57%).

The study also highlighted that although 72% accept AI usage, 61% lack formal training on AI, and half feel they have limited knowledge. Key worries include cybersecurity threats, potential job losses, misinformation, human disconnection, and algorithmic bias.

Summit Details and Goals

To address these issues, the international summit AI ON US will convene 100 senior decision-makers in Biarritz on October 15–16, 2025. The event aims to provide practical leadership tools for managing AI governance effectively.

  • Executive briefings on AI governance and regulation
  • Simulation of the European Union’s AI Act to understand regulatory impacts
  • Signing of the first international Charter for Inclusive AI
  • An ethical innovation sprint focused on responsible AI development
  • Strategic networking opportunities with global AI leaders

Participants will gain insights that help align AI deployment with public trust and ethical standards, supporting better policy outcomes.

Why Governance Matters

“AI regulation should not be seen as a hurdle to work around, but as a strategic framework to build upon – essential for market trust and competitiveness,” said Marianne Mazaud, CEO of AI ON US. She emphasized that shortcuts in AI development carry high risks, while responsible and ethical strategies deliver sustainable value.

For government officials seeking to strengthen their AI knowledge and support informed decision-making, targeted training can be invaluable. Resources like Complete AI Training offer courses that cover AI governance, ethics, and practical implementation.

Addressing AI governance head-on will help governments build trust with citizens and foster innovation within a clear ethical framework.
