Telangana Launches AI-Powered Facial Recognition for Attendance in Govt Junior Colleges
Hyderabad: Telangana government has implemented an AI-based facial recognition system (FRS) to monitor attendance in 430 government junior colleges. This move targets eliminating proxy attendance and improving accuracy in tracking student presence.
As of the rollout day, 63,587 students out of 164,621 have already been registered on the platform, with the remainder expected to join by Monday. The system leverages facial biometrics to record attendance within seconds and updates data instantly to a central database.
