AI Screening Tools Create New Liability Risks for Insurers

Algorithms are now making hiring decisions in seconds. Resumes flagged by automated systems never reach human recruiters. Job listings posted with no intention to hire sit online indefinitely. As artificial intelligence moves deeper into recruitment, insurance companies face a growing problem: understanding and underwriting the risks these systems create.

The insurance industry is adopting AI hiring tools faster than it's assessing their consequences. A webinar on June 2, 2026, will examine where these systems work and where they fail-and what that means for liability exposure.

The Problem Gets Complicated Quickly

Candidates now use AI to write resumes. Companies use AI to screen them. Neither side knows if the other is using automation. The result: a hiring process where human judgment has largely disappeared.

Ghost job listings-positions posted to collect data rather than fill roles-create false expectations for job seekers. Fake candidates generated by AI test screening systems. Resume screening algorithms reject qualified applicants because of language patterns or formatting the system wasn't trained to recognize. These practices expose companies to discrimination claims, breach-of-contract disputes, and regulatory violations.

For insurers, this means new claims categories and underwriting questions they haven't faced before.

The webinar will cover how AI systems detect AI-generated applications-and whether that detection actually works. Speakers will address the liability implications of automated hiring and explain when AI use becomes so opaque that it violates employment law or regulatory standards.
