AIIMS Bibinagar and IIITH Host Healthcare Hackathon for AI-Driven Innovations

AIIMS Bibinagar, in collaboration with IIIT Hyderabad's Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), recently conducted the MedCare AI Impact Hackathon. The event showcased promising AI applications in healthcare, including diagnostics, remote patient care, surgical planning, dental anomaly detection, and hospital process automation.

This hackathon targeted doctors, medical students, and health researchers, encouraging them to develop AI-powered solutions for real-world medical challenges. Seventeen shortlisted teams worked alongside medical faculty, researchers, and students to connect clinical expertise with AI research and development.

Focus Areas and Participation

Originating from AIIMS Bibinagar’s initiative, the hackathon centered on creating practical patient care applications, clinical tools, diagnostic innovations, and novel healthcare delivery models. Participants received one-on-one mentorship and engaged in interactive sessions featuring expert talks from IIIT Hyderabad and startup teams.

The event was structured with two distinct tracks: one for medical professionals and another for med-tech researchers. These tracks provided guided pitch training, mentoring, and workshops that helped teams refine their ideas and transform clinical problems into workable AI solutions.
