AIQ and SLB Team Up to Boost ADNOC’s Subsurface Operations with Agentic AI

AIQ, based in Abu Dhabi, is partnering with SLB to integrate agentic AI technology into ADNOC’s subsurface operations. This collaboration aims to streamline complex tasks such as geology analysis, seismic exploration, and reservoir modeling.

The core of this effort is AIQ’s ENERGYai platform, which combines 70 years of proprietary data with large language model (LLM) technology and agentic AI tailored for ADNOC’s upstream workflows. The goal is to improve efficiency, enhance decision-making, and optimize production across ADNOC’s operations.

Significant Performance Gains in Early Testing

Initial tests using 15% of ADNOC’s data on two fields showed promising results. A seismic AI agent increased the speed of seismic interpretation by 10 times and improved precision by 70%. These gains highlight the potential impact of agentic AI on subsurface workflows.

Leveraging SLB’s Lumi Platform

The collaboration will utilize SLB’s Lumi data and AI platform to support these new AI workflows. Lumi helps improve data access, simplify workflows, and scale AI solutions efficiently. Together, AIQ and SLB will develop and deploy AI agents targeting various tasks within ADNOC’s subsurface operations.

A scalable version of ENERGYai is currently in development, with deployment planned to start in the fourth quarter of this year.

  • Automates complex, high-impact subsurface tasks
  • Improves seismic interpretation speed and accuracy
  • Supports geology, seismic exploration, and reservoir modeling
  • Integrates with SLB’s Lumi platform for data and workflow management
  • Deployment scheduled to begin late 2024
