Copenhagen’s amass Raises €1.4M to Build an AI Map of Scientific Knowledge
Danish startup amass, based in Copenhagen, has secured €1.4 million in funding to develop an AI-driven map that represents the world’s scientific knowledge. The platform targets life sciences, aiming to create an intelligence layer that supports research workflows and accelerates discoveries.
The funding round includes investments from Giant Ventures, Kost Capital, EIFO, and Christian Thirion, who has also taken the role of Chairman. Alongside the financial boost, amass announced new board members: Tommy Ahlers, former Danish Minister for Science, Technology, Information and Higher Education, and Bodil Sidén from Kost Capital.
Building a Scientific Intelligence Platform
Scientific knowledge is often scattered across patents, research papers, regulatory filings, and trial data. These sources are typically siloed and difficult to cross-reference, which slows progress in life sciences research. amass addresses this challenge by connecting these disparate sources into a single platform.
Founded by Henrik Jensen (CEO) and Alexander Junge (CTO), amass helps pharma and biotech teams reduce the time it takes to reach new discoveries. Instead of simply retrieving information, the platform links concepts from multiple sources and displays the evidence supporting each link. This approach enhances transparency and supports decision-making, especially in regulated environments.
To improve relevance, amass develops specialized AI models that extract key scientific details while filtering out unrelated data during complex queries. Early users include startups, public institutions, and industry players.
Future Plans and Market Expansion
With the new funding, amass plans to enhance its product offerings and expand into additional markets. The company aims to create an AI map that visualizes the interconnectedness of scientific knowledge globally, helping research insights endure and facilitate future discoveries.
This initiative could significantly impact how researchers access and utilize scientific information, enabling faster, evidence-backed decisions in life sciences.
