On August 18, 2025, Ambience Healthcare introduced Chart Chat, an AI copilot embedded directly into Epic's electronic health record (EHR) system. This tool offers healthcare providers real-time, patient-specific, evidence-based insights, combining patient data with trusted clinical knowledge from BMJ Best Practice and advanced AI technology from OpenAI's Reinforcement Fine-Tuning (RFT).
Chart Chat creates a new layer of intelligence within the EHR, enabling clinicians to ask natural language questions about a patient’s history, lab results, treatments, and risk factors. Instead of manually searching through charts or toggling between applications, providers receive concise, structured answers in seconds.
Real-Time Clinical Assistance Built for Efficiency
Healthcare providers face increasing information overload. Chart Chat addresses this by synthesizing real-time notes from the current patient visit with the patient's full medical history. This comprehensive context allows faster, more accurate responses without disrupting clinical workflow or requiring multiple tools.
