AMD and HCLTech Join Forces to Accelerate AI, Digital, and Cloud Solutions

AMD and Indian technology firm HCLTech have formed a strategic alliance to advance development in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and cloud computing. This collaboration focuses on building a strong digital ecosystem through joint investments in innovation labs and workforce training programs.

The innovation labs will act as experimental hubs for new technologies, allowing both companies to test and refine solutions before deployment. Meanwhile, training and reskilling initiatives will prepare enterprise teams to effectively adopt and manage emerging digital tools and platforms.

End-to-End Cloud Native Innovation

HCLTech will collaborate with hyperscalers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and independent software vendors (ISVs) to deliver comprehensive cloud-native solutions that span from silicon hardware to application layers. This approach aims to offer enterprises integrated solutions that optimize performance and efficiency.

Leadership Perspectives

Dr. Lisa Su, AMD’s CEO, highlighted the benefits of the partnership: “Combining HCLTech’s expertise in digital transformation with our industry-leading Epyc, Instinct, and Ryzen PRO processors will enable us to provide enterprises with customized, future-ready solutions that maximize the potential of AI, cloud computing, and advanced analytics.”

C Vijayakumar, CEO and managing director of HCLTech, added, “This partnership empowers our clients to make smarter technology investments and accelerate their digital and AI-led transformations with confidence.”

Context on AMD’s Recent Moves

This alliance comes shortly after AMD’s recent acquisitions aimed at expanding its technology portfolio. These include the purchase of Enosemi in May 2025, the $4.9 billion acquisition of ZT Systems earlier in the year, and the acquisition of software optimization startup Brium in June. AMD also integrated talent from the recently closed AI chip startup Untether AI.

These strategic moves complement the partnership with HCLTech by bolstering AMD’s capabilities across hardware, software, and AI research.

Why This Matters for IT and Development Professionals

  • Access to innovation labs means faster testing cycles and collaboration opportunities in AI and cloud technologies.
  • Training programs focus on upskilling teams to handle evolving digital environments, an essential factor for maintaining competitiveness.
  • Integrated solutions from silicon to application can simplify deployment and improve system efficiency.
