The Shift in DeFi: Amped Finance's Innovative Approach
Over the past year, DeFi has moved away from speculative yield farming and turned its focus to more sustainable revenue models and increased automation. This shift includes AI-powered trading assistants, points-based incentive programs, and multichain deployments. Amped Finance is one of the protocols embracing this approach, combining trading tools, yield strategies, and AI integrations, all within a multichain rollout supported by an upcoming token launch.
Features like chat-based trading and a points program are already live, designed to attract users ahead of the token generation event.
Early Traction
Amped Finance operates across several networks including Sonic, Berachain, and Base, with additional testnet integrations like Monad. This multichain strategy helps spread liquidity and provides access across multiple Layer 1 and Layer 2 ecosystems.
The protocol has processed over $300 million in cumulative trading volume and generated nearly $900,000 in fees, placing it among the leading fee generators relative to TVL in the Sonic ecosystem. Most of this activity comes from its spot and perpetual trading products, liquidity pools, and vaults.
AI Integrations and Automation Tools
Amped’s use of agentic AI aims to simplify trading and liquidity provision through natural-language commands. This reduces the complexity of traditional DeFi dashboards and opens the door for less technical users to engage more easily.
The first AI tool, HeyAnon, allows users to open and manage trades using a chat-style interface. Although functionality is still developing, this approach lowers barriers for newcomers by enabling delegation of complex tasks over time.
The team plans to expand this with infrastructure that lets developers build their own AI agents on the protocol. This move reflects a growing focus on usability and automation in DeFi, aiming to make the space friendlier for retail users who may hesitate to manage positions manually.
Points, Airdrops, and Token Launch Mechanics
Amped Finance has introduced a points program to encourage user participation before its token generation event. Users earn points by interacting with ALP and yALP liquidity tokens, which count toward a share of the AMPED tokens. About 3% of the total token supply is reserved for distribution 30 days after launch, rewarding early engagement and supporting long-term growth.
The yALP token offers particular appeal to airdrop-focused users. It tracks a weighted index of assets in the Sonic ecosystem and earns points for both AMPED and Sonic “Season 2” airdrops. This combination provides a unique blend of passive yield and dual airdrop eligibility. Its auto-compounding yield makes yALP a passive rewards vehicle, though its long-term utility will depend on wider ecosystem adoption.
The upcoming initial DEX offering will use a farming overflow model via the Atlantis launchpad. Participants deposit tokens into a shared pool and earn escrowed AMPED (esAMP). Oversubscribed funds are refunded to ensure fair distribution. Escrowed tokens can be staked to earn protocol fees from day one, allowing contributors to generate yield immediately.
With 500,000 esAMP allocated to the farming bonus pool, early participants receive direct rewards for their commitment. The token launch is set with an initial market cap of $778,000 and a fully diluted valuation of $4 million, reflecting a conservative initial supply compared to many recent DeFi projects.
