Anthropic Connects Claude to Eight Creative Software Platforms
Anthropic has released connectors linking its Claude AI model directly into creative software from Adobe, Autodesk, Blender, Ableton, Splice, SketchUp, Resolume, and Affinity by Canva. Each integration is built specifically for its platform rather than using a single generic interface.
The connectors let creative professionals use Claude within the software they already work in. Adobe's connector provides access to more than 50 tools across Photoshop, Premiere, and Express. Autodesk's Fusion connector allows designers and engineers to create and modify 3D models through conversation. Blender's connector offers a natural-language interface to its Python API for analyzing scenes and building custom scripts.
On the audio side, Ableton's connector grounds Claude's responses in official product documentation for Live and Push. Splice's connector lets music producers search its royalty-free sample catalog from within Claude. Resolume gives live visual artists real-time control over its software through natural language. SketchUp turns conversations with Claude into starting points for 3D modeling, while Affinity automates repetitive tasks like batch image adjustments and layer renaming.
Anthropic joined the Blender Development Fund as a patron. Blender's connector is built on the open Model Context Protocol, making it accessible to other large language models beyond Claude.
Three Art Schools Will Test Claude in Degree Programs
Rhode Island School of Design, Ringling College of Art and Design, and Goldsmiths University of London will give students and faculty access to Claude and the new connectors for use in their curricula.
RISD's Art and Computation program, Ringling College's Fundamentals of AI for Creatives course, and Goldsmiths' MA/MFA Computational Arts program will participate. Anthropic said feedback from students and faculty will inform how the tools develop, and the company plans to expand the program to more institutions.
The educational partnerships cover different creative disciplines and academic levels. Anthropic positioned the program as a way to learn from practitioners rather than simply distribute the product, though embedding AI tools into degree programs also builds familiarity among students who will carry those preferences into their careers.
New Product for Design Exploration
Anthropic Labs released Claude Design, a product that lets users explore ideas for software experiences, visualize options, and iterate on them before exporting to other tools. The initial export option is Canva.
