The Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Naradamani Hartamchhali, recently emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI) should be integrated into fine arts based on current demands. Speaking at an interaction on ‘AI in Fine Arts’ held by NAFA, he highlighted the need for clear standards to identify AI-generated artworks. According to him, using AI in fine arts at the right time is unavoidable and necessary.

Devendra Kumar Kafle ‘Thumkeli’, Member-Secretary of the Academy, added that technology, including AI, can deliver positive outcomes if applied properly. He pointed out that adopting technological advancements should align with the specific needs of artists and creative houses, helping them thrive in their work.

Writer and journalist Ajay Sharma gave a detailed presentation covering AI’s background, development, usage, and its impact on fine arts. His insights sparked further discussion on the importance of awareness regarding potential challenges as AI becomes more widespread in artistic creation.
