Artslab Creatives' 'Forward & Fearless' AI campaign wins Silver and Bronze at SLIM DIGIS 2.5

September 12, 2025 - Artslab Creatives earned two honors at SLIM DIGIS 2.5 for the Fems Sri Lanka "Forward & Fearless" campaign: a Silver for Best Use of AI Technologies and a Bronze for Best CSR / Purpose-Driven Digital Marketing Campaign.

The recognition highlights a clear message for creatives: AI can move culture and deliver results when it's anchored to a meaningful cause and a strong execution plan.

Why this campaign stood out

"Forward & Fearless" used AI Deepfake tech for user-generated, personalized videos-participants added their face and language to create their own advocacy content. It's Sri Lanka's first CSR initiative to apply Deepfake for good at scale, turning audiences into active voices for menstrual health.

Launched ahead of International Women's Day 2024, the campaign addressed period poverty and challenged stigma, making advocacy feel personal, shareable, and safe for conversation.

The creative-tech stack that made it work

  • AI Deepfake models accelerated by CUDA-enabled NVIDIA GPUs, deployed across AWS and Google Cloud for speed and scale.
  • Multilingual content in Sinhala, Tamil, and English to reach diverse audiences with context.
  • Influencer partnerships plus premium video assets to boost credibility and distribution.
  • Inclusive storytelling featuring both men and women to confront stereotypes and expand participation.

Practical takeaways for creatives

  • Make people the message: UGC with face-swap personalization increases identification and share intent.
  • Design for scale early: plan infra (GPUs, cloud) before launch to handle spikes without quality drops.
  • Think multilingual by default: message clarity grows when you meet audiences in their language.
  • Pair tech with purpose: tools are the medium-your cause and story create the momentum.
  • Blend influencer reach with community proof: creators seed attention; everyday participants sustain it.

Leadership perspective

Akhila Wijetunga, CEO and Founder of Artslab Creatives, emphasized the team's goal to use AI for meaningful social outcomes-improving lives and telling stories that matter. He highlighted how the campaign helped break the silence around menstruation in Sri Lanka and showed how AI can support marginalized communities, reinforcing the company's commitment to create at the intersection of creativity, purpose, and technology.
