ASSIST Software Drives IDEATE with Romanian AI for Inclusive Classrooms Across Europe

ASSIST Software advances inclusive AI for European education

ASSIST Software is building the digital core of IDEATE - the Inclusive Digital Education and Teacher Empowerment Academy. Funded by the Erasmus+ Teacher Academies program, the initiative launched in Suceava and connects leading universities, teacher training centers, and education authorities across Europe.

As the technical partner, ASSIST is developing adaptive, gamified platforms that give teachers practical tools to create inclusive classrooms. Built by Romanian engineers in Suceava, the solutions blend innovation with social responsibility.

What IDEATE delivers for educators

  • Adaptive learning pathways, purposeful gamification, and collaboration tools so teachers can personalize instruction without losing momentum.
  • AI that offers real-time feedback, recommends resources, and tracks progress to support timely interventions.
  • Inclusive design for neurodivergent learners, aligning learning environments to individual strengths and challenges.
  • Workflow relief for teachers through planning assistance, data visibility, and easier resource sharing.

Scale and outcomes by 2027

1,700+ pre-service and in-service teachers will complete accredited training in inclusive education. 180 cross-border mobilities-workshops, summer schools, and virtual exchanges-will connect educators in a practical network.

  • A Digital Hub will host the community, encourage open educational resources (OER) creation, and keep engagement high.
  • At least 50% of trained teachers are expected to contribute OERs; 35% will report improved well-being and self-efficacy.
  • Classrooms benefit from better-prepared teachers and more accessible, active learning.

A consortium built for impact

IDEATE is anchored by Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava (USV) and includes Bielefeld University (Germany), Universitat de Lleida (Spain), the University of Patras (Greece), and the University of Perugia (Italy). Romanian partners such as the Suceava County School Inspectorate, the George Tofan Teachers' Training Center, and Mihai Eminescu National College strengthen regional adoption.

This mix of universities, authorities, and training centers ensures proven practices travel across borders and reach real classrooms.

Turning AI into practical teaching tools

Debates about AI in education are common; IDEATE focuses on responsible use. The ASSIST AI Center develops human-centered technologies that support teachers instead of adding overhead.

Research spans adaptive learning, gamification, and ethical AI so educators get tools that are transparent, reliable, and useful in diverse classrooms. For policy teams, IDEATE is a credible model for embedding AI in teacher training and day-to-day practice.

Romania's role in Europe's education future

ASSIST builds on a track record of 30+ EU-funded projects and a team of 400+ engineers certified to international standards. The goal extends beyond training cohorts-IDEATE will leave a sustainable digital ecosystem that keeps helping teachers long after the project ends.

What school leaders and teacher educators can do now

  • Define concrete inclusion goals (e.g., engagement and assessment accommodations for neurodivergent learners) and set baseline metrics.
  • Plan for OER creation and sharing so your staff can contribute back to the IDEATE Digital Hub.
  • Prepare clear guardrails for AI-assisted planning, feedback, and assessment to keep trust high.
  • Adopt consistent accessibility practices (e.g., captions, readable layouts, flexible pacing) across courses and departments.
